B.S. in physics from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), where he completed an award-winning bioengineering project at the Heart Institute of the Clinical Hospital of the Medical School of the University of São Paulo. He is currently a Ph.D. student in biomedical engineering at the École Polytechnique de Paris (IPP), where his research focuses on cell mechanics and medical imaging.
