Introduction to Quantum Biology — Season One

Ever imagined unraveling the mysteries at the intersection of biology and quantum physics? This is a unique chance to engage with leading researchers and professors in their fields and to build valuable connections that can open the way for future collaborations.

Quantum biology offers a new perspective on how quantum phenomena influence biological processes. From medical applications to the navigation strategies of migratory birds, this field opens up a fresh way of understanding life and nature. This emerging area unlocks exciting research paths and career opportunities across physics, biology, bioengineering, biotechnology, medicine, and environmental sciences.

Series format: Host Dr. Marcelo Sousa, CEO of Bright Photomedicine and associated researcher at IDOR, will lead each episode in a dynamic and informal way, prioritizing the exchange of ideas and concepts among the experts. Participants will be able to ask questions, and PhD candidates Pedro Alvarez (Gleb Wataghin Institute of Physics) and Matheus Araña (École Polytechnique de Paris) will make the session even more interactive.

The Introduction to Quantum Biology series is the first project on this topic produced in Portuguese and led by the Quantum Bio BR Team.

Certificate of Participation: By attending the series live, you’ll receive a certificate that may count toward academic credits. It’s the participant’s responsibility to check with their institution how the credits are recorded. Attendance will be tracked on the online platform, and a minimum 80% attendance is required to receive the certificate.

The Quantum Bio BR Team is made up of Dr. Marcelo Sousa, CEO of Bright Photomedicine and researcher supported by Pioneer Science, and PhD candidates Pedro Alvarez (Gleb Wataghin Institute of Physics) and Matheus Araña (École Polytechnique de Paris), who are leading this series in a dynamic and innovative way for a broad and diverse audience.
