Quantum Biology in Medicine — Season Two

Following the success of its first season, the Quantum Biology series returns with a new batch of episodes — now focused on medicine. Starting May 7, 2024, five sessions will cover a range of topics, including new perspectives on quantum sciences in oncology and their influence on the future of neuroscience.

With three guests per episode, the series is hosted by Marcelo Sousa, CEO of Bright Photomedicine and IDOR researcher, with the participation of PhD candidates Pedro Alvarez (Universities of Oldenburg and Oxford) and Matheus Araña (Harvard Medical School and Paris Polytechnic Institute).

Aimed at undergraduates, graduate students, and researchers, the webinars are great opportunities to engage with leading scientists and professors in their fields, opening pathways to collaborations and projects across physics, biology, bioengineering, biotechnology, medicine, and environmental sciences.

The Quantum Biology series is a Pioneer Science project.

Certificate of participation

Participants who attend the series live for at least four episodes are entitled to a certificate. This document may count as academic credits — it is the participant’s responsibility to check with their institution how these credits are registered.

Registration

The event is free and will be streamed via Zoom. To take part, register through this link. Access information for all episodes will be sent to the email provided at registration.

All episodes start at 10 AM and last up to 1h30.

As the series title suggests, the new batch of episodes dives into the relationship between quantum biology and the world of medicine, exploring how this area of science can impact fields such as oncology and neuroscience.

The Quantum Bio BR Team is made up of Dr. Marcelo Sousa, CEO of Bright Photomedicine and associated researcher at IDOR, and PhD candidates Pedro Alvarez (Gleb Wataghin Institute of Physics) and Matheus Araña (École Polytechnique de Paris), who lead the conversations in a dynamic and innovative way.
