Julie Weingartner

Sobre

PhD in Neuroscience from UFRJ’s Graduate Program in Morphological Sciences, Julie Hellen Weingartner holds a degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis on Systems Biophysics from the same institution. Since 2011, she has carried out research at Instituto D’Or de Pesquisa e Ensino (IDOR), focusing on Neuroimaging, Computational Neuroscience, Emotions, and Music. She uses the programming languages Matlab, Python, and R. She combines her scientific career with an artistic one, also being a singer, musician, actress, and composer, known as Julie Wein. A Fellow of the Pioneer Science initiative, which supports high-risk, high-impact projects in Brazil. Twice awarded at the Giulio Massarani Conference and graduated with Distinction.

Áreas de Pesquisa:

Neuroscience and Cognition

About the research:

Her postdoctoral research line investigates the intersection between cognitive neuroscience, meta-science, and anomalous phenomena, using non-inferential perception as a test field for refining the scientific method. The central aim is to confront the replicability crisis through extremely rigorous experimental protocols, capable of distinguishing real signals from statistical noise. The methodology includes innovative tasks, such as searches in three-dimensional virtual environments with isotropic probabilistic distribution, computational simulations, and statistical modeling.
