He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Physics from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas. As a PhD student at the University of Oldenburg, in collaboration with the University of Oxford, Pedro Alvarez investigates quantum biology with a focus on avian magnetoreception. He simulates spin dynamics in radical pair systems sensitive to weak magnetic fields, using innovative computational methods.
