Theoretical physicist with a bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He works in the broad area of quantum optics, especially in the description of the interaction of light with matter, having also worked on foundations of quantum mechanics and electrodynamics. He has been a researcher at the Nanospectroscopy Laboratory (LabNS) at UFMG since 2024, in the areas of generation of light with quantum properties through Raman scattering and near-field spectroscopy with nanometric resolution (Tip-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy). With support from Pioneer Science, he has been a postdoctoral researcher on the Neurophysics project since 2024, which investigates the sensitivity of human visual perception to quantum properties of light.
