Sobre

Works at Pioneer Science’s laboratory in São Paulo (SP). He holds a master’s with an emphasis on bioinformatics and a PhD in Molecular Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz, RJ). He completed a postdoctoral fellowship (2023–2025) at the Innovative Genomics Institute (UC Berkeley) through Pioneer Science’s Advanced Training Program, with projects in CRISPR/Cas-based genome and epigenome editing. His career integrates transcriptomics, gene expression regulation, and epi/genomic interventions focused on frontier science.

About the research:

Investigates epigenome editing as a platform for developing advanced therapies for the prevention or treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. The rationale is based on the idea of precisely and safely modulating the expression of endogenous neuroprotective programs. The strategy focuses on the peripheral induction of circulating molecules that act on the brain and are capable of inducing neuronal resilience. The aim is to delay the onset or slow the progression of neurodegeneration. Beyond this project, others are also being developed to study the mechanisms of dysfunctional transcriptional regulation from an epigenetic perspective.
